JENNA & ALAN - DUNGARVAN PARK HOTEL | APRIL 2015
There was lots of love in the air at Jenna and Alan’s Dungarvan Park Hotel wedding and even the rain showers didn’t dampen this couple’s spirits. We even ended up on the beach where we had great fun and got to make the most of the brighter patch of weather!
Who better to fill you in on the rest than Jenna herself…
Length of engagement…
Almost 2years….3 days short of 2years (27th April 2015)
We met…..
In March 2010 when we were in college in athlone through mutual friends at a nursing and business ball. Alan followed me around the dance floor all night even though I told him I wasn’t interested haha.
Our proposal….
We were living in london at the time and Alan had got a pay rise;)ha. The story goes that Alan had it all planned for the Friday night when I returned from work however my dad in Ireland wouldn’t answer his phone. So all the candles and rose petals had to be removed from the floor and plan abandoned;)
So my dad eventually answered his phone on the Saturday morning and the plan was back on….semi wilted rose petals and candles all layed out again. And I obviously said yes even without knowing the big story which was attached☺
Our wedding theme/colours…
We didn’t really have a theme or colour scheme..it all just kind of came together when my sister picked her bridesmaid dress..dark green. I decided that light pinks and purple would go well with the green and also introduce some colour to church flowers and bouquets.
My dress…
I bought my dress in my dress bridal wear carrick on suir….the staff we amazing. I actually didn’t pick out my own dress which people find really strange. the girls recommended I try it on from what I had said I liked and didn’t like…and I fell in love with it.
My favourite part of the wedding day…
I really don’t have one favourite part. The whole day was amazing. But for sure seeing my husband to be when I reached the top of aisle was the most emotional followed closely by the speeches.
My piece of advice for other brides…
My advice for all other brides is to be really organised. People will tell you that the big day goes really quickly but it actually does fly by so I was really organised which might I didn’t have anything to worry about on the day at all everyone new exactly what they had to do which meant I got to enjoy evey minute of my day.
Also add your own touches to your big day and you don’t have to do everything just because its traditional..you do what you want…its your day after all.
“From the very first day I emailed Trish regarding date availability and prices, we were so impressed. She couldn’t have been more helpful, professional or friendly. When we met up with Trish before the wedding to decide on what we wanted from our photos she was amazing. She had thought of everything and was more than willing to take our ideas on board and also had lots of advice for us to ensure that our big day flowed as well as possible. On the day she was as professional as ever making everyone feel comfortable even those who were camera shy. Trish remembered everything we had said we wanted on big day without we even noticing. Our photos are amazing and more than we could have ever wished for…when the big day is over remember its all you have left. I would recommend Trish 110%..guaranteed you won’t be disappointed. Thanks Trish”.
