CLAIRE & JOHNNY - Woodlands House Hotel, Adare | March 2015

Claire & Johnny’s civil ceremony and wedding reception took place in the lovely Woodlands House Hotel and thankfully despite some threatening rain clouds we got to make the most of the hotel and Adare village for their wedding photography.

Their Story…

We met...

Through Johnny’s aunt Sheila. Claire & Sheila were friends and Johnny spotted Claire at Mass and made enquiries to Sheila… Claire agreed to meet with Johnny for tea and Johnny came armed with two big cream buns… we talked for hours….the rest shall we say is history!

Our proposal

1st February 2014 – Johnny took Claire away for a romantic weekend to what she thought was Carton House, when in fact he had booked Powerscourt Hotel, Enniskerry (somewhere Claire had always wanted to stay J) On the way, we took in the sights and passed Powerscourt Waterfall. Johnny casually suggested we take a look, and despite the cold and rain and the fear of ruining the hair….Claire agreed. Miraculously, when we arrived at the foot of the waterfall the rain stopped and the clouds cleared! There wasn’t a sole around and as Claire was standing up on the rocks admiring the waterfall, Johnny got down on one knee and proposed! It was perfect…

My dress

After visiting four different bridal shops with my mam and friend and seeing a dress in each I liked…. I narrowed it down to two and went back to see them. On walking into Amore in Youghal to try one of them on again I spotted another dress, which I asked to try on. The smile said it all! It was the first dress I had put on in all the shops that had me smiling from ear to ear….. it was the one!! Janice and Camilla at Amore were brilliant from day one and gave me their honest opinion on everything I asked. Nothing was too much bother, and they worked with the dress maker to ensure the dress was just perfect for me.

My favourite part of the wedding day...

The Ceremony. Walking down the aisle and seeing Johnny waiting for me with a huge smile on his face. Having so many of our family and friends, including our two wonderful children, in the one room sharing that special time with us. Our ceremony was very personal to us and we enjoyed every part of it.

My piece of advice for other brides...

Be as organized as you can as early on as possible… this will ensure the last few weeks/days leading upto your wedding day are as stress free as possible. Relax on the day and enjoy every minute because you won’t believe how quickly the day goes by!

Testimonial for Insight Photography:

Trish, we cannot thank you enough for your help, advice and professionalism, you were an absolute star! From when we met day 1 to the actual day of the wedding, your guidance and advice helped put us at ease and the day itself run smoothly.  You couldn’t do enough for us and our families and nothing was too much trouble.  We sailed through the day not realising half the photo’s were being taken, you really had everyone at ease. The slideshow was amazing…. and added a real Wow factor to the reception. We came back from our honeymoon to a gorgeous package from Insight Photography… how exciting, the discs with our photo’s all wrapped up like a present! Thank you Trish x
